Measuring in at 7 x 70 the 707 Ligero will be largest ring gauge regular production cigar we have ever produced. The 707 Ligero will be presented in (10) count boxes and will have an MSRP of $10.50 per cigar and $105.00 per box.  The 707 Ligero will begin shipping to Premium Cigar Retailers nationwide the week of December 15, 2014.

It reminded me of a time in grade school when my father gave me tickets to watch the Philadelphia Eagles play at Veterans Stadium (Now Lincoln Financial Field). The tickets were given to him by Wally Henry and team member of the Eagles. I was fortunate as a elementary school student to dine with the players, wives, and head coaching staff after the game while being at the stadium. The motivational talks before and after the game in the locker room left a lasting impression on how to persevere and win. Shon Brooks got his start in television writing, producing, and hosting career as a teenager right out of high school. He gained experience on Southwestern Cable TV (now Time Warner) and Cox Communications (now Cox Media) by producing a show called, “Making A Difference.” He learned how to host and produce shows from the network supervisors in their Public Access television studio on the weekends while working pro bono.

Emilio Cigars releases Mia Dora

Gary Griffith of Emilio Cigars announced today yet another addition to the ever-growing portfolio of cigars available through the House of Emilio.
Mia Dora is produced by AJ Fernandez in Esteli, Nicaragua and features an Habano wrapper and Nicaraguan filler and binder.
The Robusto and Toro are available in 21 count boxes, and the Coronita comes in a 40 count box.  The boxes are embossed in gold, while the cigar bands feature a theme dedicated to the town of Ascoli Piceno in Italy, birthplace of the ancestors of the love of Griffith’s life, Dora.

Viva Republica announces limited-edition fundraising cigar

Viva Republica, a premium handmade cigar manufacturer, and Operation: Cigars for Warriors, a nonprofit dedicated to serving U.S. military members serving  in combat zones, are pleased to announce a Veteran’s Day limited-edition release cigar that will be sold to benefit the charity.

The cigar will retail for $6, with all proceeds from the wholesale of the cigar to authorized retailers going directly to Operation: Cigars for Warriors. The limited edition run of 2,000 cigars is the first of its kind for Viva Republica and will ship to stores next week onVeteran’s Day, November 10th, 2014.

“For Veteran’s Day this year I wanted to do something for an organization that I truly believe in,” said Jason Holly, owner of Viva Republica. “The volunteers of Operation: Cigars for Warriors work tirelessly to get cigars to the men and women fighting for our country.”

Not only will this special run be a first for Viva Republica, it will be a first for Operation: Cigars for Warriors as well.  The proceeds from the sales of the cigars are expected to be the largest single cash donation in the nonprofit’s history.

“The support of Viva Republica could not have come at a better time,” said Storm Boen, Chairmen of the Board for Operation: Cigars for Warriors.  “Every month we have more requests from active duty troops than our all-volunteer organization can fill and the donation from the sale of Viva’s cigars will be used to defray our shipping costs when sending cigars to troops overseas.”

The cigar will measure 5 1/8 ” x 42” and is a medium-plus smoke. It was designed to be a smoke that is bold and flavorful.

“This release features a prototype Nicaraguan wrapper I have been working with,” said Holly.  “In terms of the blend, it’s a bit different style than the regular production portfolio.”

JM’s Nicaraguan Is latest value-priced 100% Tobacco, Handmade Premium Cigar from JM Tobacco

JM´s NicaragauanJM Tobacco, Inc., pioneers in value-priced premium cigars, just debuted their latest premium cigar, JM’s Nicaraguan.  The hand-made Cuban sandwich construction consists of 100% choice tobaccos.

JM’s Nicaraguans join the company’s existing “JM’s” brand value-priced cigars, which are available in four different wrappers … Sumatra, Corojo, Connecticut and Maduro.  JM’s Nicaraguan is offered in Sumatra and Maduro wrappers.  Its name is derived from the all-Nicaraguan filler.  The binder is a maduro-fermented Connecticut broadleaf.  The medium-bodied Nicaraguan delivers a creamy-smooth smoke, with hints of nuts and chocolate.  Company president Anto Mahroukian describes the Nicaraguan as a “sweet smoke, with a flavor and body that are tailored to the three-to-four-a-day smoker.  The Nicaraguan’s price tag is no deterrent, at less than $3.00 MSRP.”  The cigar is available in the same eight shapes as all other JM’s value-priced cigars, from 5.5″ x 42 Corona to 6.75″ x 62 Gordo Grande.  Like all JM’s selections, the Nicaraguan comes punch-cut and 50 cigars to a box, except for the large-girth Gordos … their boxes hold 24.

Latest updates to Arango’s “Clasico” Premium Cigar Series: CAO Gold

CAO Gold ClasicoThe long-popular “CAO Gold” blend of cigars has now joined the other benchmark premium cigars in Arango Cigar Co.’s Clasico series of private label brands.  All Clasico brands are exclusive to Arango.  They are sold only at brick and mortar shops, not through mail order or Internet sales.

CAO Gold Clasico is made by General Cigar Company using similar tobaccos, wrappers and binders as the regular-market CAO Gold.  The box and bands bear the original CAO Gold artwork, with its iconic entwined “CAO” initials.

CAO Gold Clasico frontmarks, like those of the other Clasico lines, pay tribute to notable Chicagoland areas: Mag Mile (5-1/2 x 44), Windy City (5 x 50), Bucktown (6-1/8 x 52, Belicoso) and Gold Coast (6 x 60).  The tobacco blends on all Clasico lines mirror those of the national brands they are patterned after.  The cigars are presented in space-saving Spanish cedar boxes of 15 cellophane-wrapped cigars.

Gabriel Alvarez originally served as the Operations Manager for Kuuts, LLC, where he handled day-to-day operations for the company, including (amongst various other responsibilities) social media, marketing, brand development, logistics, and sales. Gabriel was the owner of a very successful cigar shop and lounge in Miami, Florida, prior to entering the manufacturing side of the cigar world.

Replacing the original “lions and crest” logo, this design exemplifies the family tradition theme of JA3Cigars. The re-branded logo is based on the Alexander Family Coat of Arms.

Partnered with the rebranding of the company, JA3Cigars is proud to officially announce a new blend produced through the Quesada Cigar Factory, expected to be released mid-Fall of 2014. Replacing the current corojo blend, the new release (known as the Jordan Alexander III Corojo) is constructed with a
Dominican Corojo wrapper, Dominican binder, with Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. The Jordan Alexander III Corojo will be available in four vitolas; robusto (5 ½ x 54), toro (6 x 52), double toro (6×60), and belicoso (6 x 52).
