While the year 2005 is part of the marque of this cigar, I have not been sitting on it for six years. I’ll only admit to about one year of humidor time for the cigars I smoked for this review.
This particular blend uses the same tobaccos as the cigar in last week’s review. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian Habano leaf with a Nicaraguan binder and filler.
The appearance is also remarkably similar, a medium brown wrapper with thin veins.
The one difference I noticed was a heavier spice sensation on the exhale. This sensation eventually mellowed at the cigar burned down.
Flavors were tobacco with light coffee and they remained consistent from start to finish.
I seriously found very little to distinguish this Savinelli 2005 Special Selection from the Savinelli Liga Especial I smoked last week. Both were enjoyable with very similar characteristics. I guess if I were to buy these regularly, I would have to use price as a deciding factor between the two.
