M.Esteli is a new cigar brand, just released from Bombay Tabak. It joins the ranks of the well received MBOMBAY and GAAJA brands.
M.Esteli is available in three vitolas; Robusto, Toro and Torpedo. Today, I will be reviewing the Torpedo.
I received this cigar as part of my monthly Stogiebird subscription service. This month, all eight of the cigars I received are new to me. That’s one of the great things about Stogiebird, there are always plenty of new smokes for me to enjoy.
The blend of the M.Esteli is comprised by a light brown Ecuadoran Habano wrapper leaf that surrounds a Dominican binder and filler tobacco from Nicaragua and Dominican Piloto Cubano.
It’s a good looking cigar, the wrapper leaf is small veined and the seams are nearly invisible. The cap is smoothly applied and wsa easy to cut. The foot of the cigar is closed. The cigar had an average weight and was firm to the touch.
I lit the cigar with my quad lighter and took a few puffs. The draw was easy and the cigar produced a good amount of smoke.
The combustion characteristics of the cigar were very good. The burn was even and the carbon ring was thin. The cigar’s ash was firm, tight with gray and black colors.
The first third of this cigar had a short finish with savory, mild tobacco flavors that coated the palate. The retrohale was also mild in strength.
The second third had an elongated finish full of rich tobacco flavor. The retrohale picked up in strength as well.
At the end of this smoking session, the cigar produced a long, strong finish. The flavors did not change but the rich tobacco was wonderful.
The Bombay Tabak M.Esteli is a medium strength, medium bodied, enjoyable smoke. It would make a great morning cigar with a cup of coffee or even after a light lunch.
Adding all of this information up, I give the M.Esteli a 93.
