The Perdomo Champagne 10th Anniversary is manufactured by Tabacalera Perdomo to celebrate their 10th year in business. This blend has been around for a long time but, it is and always has been a good little smoke.
The blend consists of an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper surrounding a Cuban-Seed Nicaraguan binder and filled with a mixture of Cuban-Seed Nicaraguan leaves.
The cigar I chose for review was the Epicure vitola which measures 6 x 54.
The Perdomo Champagne 10th Anniversary is instantly recognizable in a cigar shops humidor due to the bright yellow cello it is packaged in.
The tan wrapper is beautiful to look at and is rolled expertly. I picked up on a strong tobacco aroma from the wrapper and a sweet barnyard aroma from the finished foot. The double cap is smoothly applied. The cigar is firm to the touch with no soft spots.
The pre-light draw was very easy and I noticed smooth and creamy flavors.
The cigar had a slightly flakey light gray ashand burned fairly evenly with a thin carbon ring.
The first third of the cigar had a decent spice sensation on the retrohale with a slight nutty / woody flavor on my palate.
The second third had a slightly bitter finish. The retrohale had a strong pronounced spice and I picked up slightly grassy flavors from the smoke as it rolled around my mouth.
The final third had a longer finish with rich creamy smoke. The bitterness ended and was replaced with the same nutty / woody flavors from the first third
In summary, this is a fine smoke and it’s no surprise that it’s a favorite with many cigar smokers. I feel this is a great morning smoke that pairs well with coffee.
I give the Perdomo Champagne 10th Anniversary a rating of 92.
