Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas

Cigar Review: Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2019

Cigar Review

General Cigar Co. announced the release of the Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas in June of 2019. It was released to retailers in July of 2019. They will only be making 2,500 (10) count boxes. Each cigar will be enclosed in a glass tube.

The Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas was first released in 2005 and until now, the last release was in 2009.

The cigar is only offered in a Robusto vitola (5.5” x 49) and the MSRP is $14.99.

I received samples of this cigar from the General Cigar company for purposes of this review.

The specifics

They used Dominican Piloto Cubano and Nicaraguan Ometepe leaf for the filler, a Honduran San Agustin binder, and the 10-year old Cameroon wrapper leaf.

The Cameroon wrapper is somewhere between Colorado / Colorado Maduro in color. The wrapper leaf is very veiny and has visible seams. There was a faint tobacco aroma on the wrapper and a light tobacco aroma with notes of ammonia on the foot.

The experience

Pre-light

I clipped the cap and found a slight firmness to the pre-light draw.

1st third

During the first third, there was a mild spice sensation on the retrohale. There was a medium finish with savory tobacco notes.

2nd & final thirds

The second and final thirds were similar. The strength increases to medium in the retrohale and a deep tobacco flavor covered my palate.

[su_box title=”Summary” style=”glass” box_color=”#e1dddd”]The Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas is a good morning cigar as long as your coffee isn’t too strong. Overall the Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2019 is a mild to medium cigar in strength and body.

I give this cigar a score of 80.[/su_box]
