Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro No. 2

Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro No. 2 cigar review

Cigar Review

Discontinued in 2007, the Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro line was brought back in 2018. It is now rolled at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

The line is comprised of three vitolas:  the Nuevitas robusto (5 x 52}, the Nuevitas Jibaro No.1 (5 x 54) and the Nuevitas Jibaro No. 2 Toro (6 x 52).

Specifics

The cigar is a Nicaraguan puro that uses a Corojo 99 wrapper.

The cigar I used for this review came from my monthly Stogiebird subscription.

The Experience

Appearance

The Corojo 99 is medium brown in color with an oily sheen. There are some noticeable veins and faint seams.

The cigar’s band is small and orange and white in color. The cap is smooth and the foot is unfinished.

The wrapper has an earthy aroma and the foot carries that aroma but much deeper and richer.

Pre-light

The cold draw was perfect and I picked up on some orange peel and tobacco notes.

The Smoke

The retrohale starts off strong and maintains that strength throughout and lingers from about the middle of the cigar until the end.

The predominant flavor is a savory tobacco, with a long finish and tingling sensations on my lips and palate.

Combustion

The burn was razor sharp with a thin carbon ring behind the ash. The ash itself was white, tight and firm. The cigar produced a good amount of smoke.

[su_box title=”Summary” style=”soft” box_color=”#e1dddd”]I found this cigar to be medium to full in both strength and body. It was a very enjoyable cigar.

Overall, I rate the Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro No. 2 at an 89.6 [/su_box]
