A few weeks ago, a friend of mine tagged me in a FB post for the Adios, Motherfucker. Since my wife is a Long Island Iced Tea fan and the blue color reminded me of a Tiki cocktail, this seemed like a no-brainer to make at home.
Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce vodka
- 1/2 ounce rum
- 1/2 ounce tequila
- 1/2 ounce gin
- 1/2 ounce blue curaçao
- 2 ounces sweet-and-sour mix
- Sprite or 7Up
- lemon or maraschino cherry as a garnish (optional)
Steps
Add all of the alcohol and the sour mix into a mixing tin with ice and shake.
Strain into a tall(ish) glass with fresh ice and top off with the Sprite or 7Up.
Garnish with a Maraschino cherry or slice of lemon. Or both, the more color, the better.
Tasting notes
This is a very tasty, deceptively strong cocktail. Alright, maybe with 5 different liquors, it isn’t so deceptive. It’s bright, citrusy and sweet with no one booze component dominating the drink.
You could seriously pound several of these quickly and not think anything of it. At first. Then, they will sneak up on you. (not that I would know…..)
The Adios, Motherfucker is a great cocktail that was a hit the past weekend at the house. This will stay in my home bartender playlist for future get togethers.
