The Blue Dolphin was created by Gavin Inglis in 1986 while he was a bartender at the Dolphin Brasserie in London, UK.
I enjoyed this cocktail. There was a good bit of back and forth between the slightly bitter vermouth and sweet rum. Blue is always a fun color for a drink.
I used a dehydrated orange wheel as the garnish and also as a platform to rest the purple flower that grows with wild abandon along the side of my house. I don’t remember it’s name but, I do know it’s not edible and a member of the nightshade family.
Should you care to make your own Blue Dolphin, here is the recipe:
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. dry vermouth
1/2 oz. blue curacao
1/2 oz. coconut rum
Shake with ice cubes. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
Oh this looks beautiful! I have everything except the Vermouth.
