My Yellow Submarine didn’t look very yellow. I didn’t have white créme de cacao, mine was dark. My rum was also a little darker than gold. I could have gone with a white rum to compensate but, I wanted a richer rum flavor. Oh well, I lose a few points for presentation but the drink tasted great.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 oz. unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 oz. créme de banana
  • 1/4 oz. white créme de cacao
  • 1/4 oz. sugar syrup
  • 1 1/2 oz. gold vigin islands rum
Steps:
  • Shake with ice cubes
  • Pour unstrained into a glass.
  • Add more ice to fill if needed.
  • Garnish with a pineapple chunk speared to a green cocktail cherry.

Tasting notes:

This drink certainly falls into the sour category of cocktails. The lemon juice is up front but, on the finish there is a nice, sweet, banana and rum finish.

I enjoyed this drink very much.
