My re-creation of the Tropical Macaw a tropical cocktail from Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
A few weeks ago while celebrating our anniversary, my wife and I met our friends who were also celebrating their anniversary the same weekend.
Our friend ordered a Tropical Macaw and really enjoyed it. I took a photo of the cocktail description and figured out how to make the cocktail at home.
I think my version looks nicer, even if I didn’t have the fresh pineapple slice for garnish. I think the Disney bar had pre-mixed the juices and that’s why they only show 2 layers.
Tropical Macaw
- 1 part coconut rum
- 1 part melon liqueur
- 2 parts pineapple juice
- 2 parts cranberry juice
Add all ingredients to a hurricane cocktail glass with ice in the order specified.
Slowly pour over the ice to assist in layering the individual ingredients.
Garnish as desired.
Once presented with the cocktail, you should stir the drink yourself to mix everything together. Then, enjoy!
